Grade 2 Technique chart

Thank you all for your kind comments, I'm glad many of you liked the Grade 1 technique chart, it's been fun working on these! I look forward to working on the other levels and will post them as they are created. Meanwhile, here's another one for Grade 2 and you may download it here. Enjoy!

Would love to hear how these doodle charts are working out for you and your students :)

Grade 1 Technique Chart

I was delighted to see Anne's recent post about her cute nom nom cards, such a fun way for students to review technique for the upcoming exams. Funny how my students seem to also think they have all the time to polish up scales and register finger#2 on the right hand 1st inversion triads while I stay feeling apprehensive about exams creeping up in a few short months!

I'm excited to give each of my students a set of Anne's nom nom cards to take home and I know already that they will have much more fun with the cute cards instead of flipping through pages of their scales and technique book. I'm challenging them to complete all technique (fluently) within a given time limit.

To complement the nom nom cards, I've created a visual to show the Grade 1 technical requirements on a single page since I have few students playing their Grade 1 exam. I'm planning to have students colour in each piece as each scale/key is mastered and played confidently with a good tone. Hope the blank doodles won't stay too long :)

You are welcome to print this resource for your studio use if your students might enjoy some colouring.

Too Old To Play?

While I was visiting the Children's Museum at Everett WA, I saw a quote that took the space of an entire wall which speaks so much to me. I think it's so true that we all need to play.
I've been having a lot of fun with Photoshop and here's a design of the quote by George Bernard Shaw that I am excited to share.
If this might interest you, the design is sized to fit a 8"x 10" frame and you are welcome to download, print and use it as a wall decoration.
I'm building a wall filled with famous quotes in the studio, join me?
